We are a charitable trust based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, UK. In 2008 we recieved at grant from HLF to carry out an oral history and research project into the lives of women who have worked in Industry across the region over the past 100 years. This blog is here to keep everyone up to date on the progress of the project and where we hope it will go, it is also here so that people can add comments or ideas for the project. Appeal for volunteers...

Women War workers at English Steel Corporation, 1942

We are still looking for volunteers, get in touch if you if you are interested...

In terms of time commitment the project will involve:

· An hour’s induction – meet the Trust staff, other volunteers and learn more about the project

· A one day training course, in Sheffield centre

· A small number of pre-arranged and mutually agreeable dates for the interviewing of participants

· Help in putting together and running the 4 exhibition and workshop in your area.

Travel Expenses will be paid

By the end of the project you will have learned the skills required for oral history taking and be able to use this for your own family research – bringing your ‘family tree’ to life or in your community or workplace.

Please telephone Julie or Jess on 01709 834441 if your are interested or would like to find out more.

We look forward to hearing from you.
